I can't believe we have done a sicth of the year already, this half term seems to have flown by! We have nearly finished our assessments, the class have done really well, I have tested them on all their times tables, look out for a new whole school target sheet on the blog relating to x tables, as we are focussing on that next half term.

Tomorrow morning is book characters parade! I hope lots of you dress up, we'll be following it up with book related activities and making where's wally scenes.

    Good Night

    Hi All,
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and manage to find something fun to do in the rain! Next week is our last week before half term, so we will have some assessments, but we get to end the week with book character's parade! Have a think about what you would like to be and remember parents are more than welcome!

With our trip to see Charlie and the Chocolate factory coming up this weekend, we are continuing our playscript theme and looking at changing the narrative of Charlie into film script.
As we are a healthy school we will be making our own popcorn to take to the cinema on Wednesday.
Maths: continuing our work on fractions and introducing decimals and percentages.

Hope you all had a good weekend

    Hi All,

We learnt colours in French today and discussed the difference between sins and crimes in RE. In literacy we improved a really boring text! Not as easy as it looked!
The children have been adding stickers to their reward bookmarks and more children got their bronze award for team points!

I hope you all have a good weekend, see you on Monday

I have had a super couple of days out, and am armed with great maths challenge ideas and games.

I will back in class tomorrow when we will be learning our colours in French, changing the most boring texts into super well thought out texts using a thesaurus and using the language of probability in maths.

    Hi,
It's been a couple of busy days! We have finished our story openings, some very successful stories, including action, setting and character descriptions and dialogue. I will post some on the Blog for you to see the high standards 5P are writing at this year!
In DT 2 groups have made their bread and taken it home, the classroom smelt delicious!

We will be baking more bread and thinking of our design brief!
Another successful week for homework! Lots completed and to a really high standard!

In PE we got the large apparatus out adn the children experimented travelling and balancing on it! There are 2 rules in PE, no talking and no racing after the person in front of you. Lots following them really well!

I will be at a conference on Wednesday and a Maths course on Thursday (the children are used to me not being there on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons) hopefully they won't be too disrupted as lessons will be as normal!
